It's Friday, Friday! Gotta get down on Friday! Woohoo!
Can you tell I'm excited for Friday?? Haha
Welp, you know how we made our own kitchen counters from 3 Douglas Fir beams from Home Depot? Yeah... that was a complete FAIL. Don't do it. LOL After a couple weeks of sitting there they have moved SO much! I forgot to take a pic but, man, did they move. There's probably a centimeter gap between two of the beams. My mom said that we need to put dowels in between the boards too and let the unaltered boards sit in the space for a week or so to acclimate to the room temp, etc. but at this point Dan is over it. We're thinking that we'll probably just rip these out and put plywood down everywhere and tile. Big tiles though, nice tiles. Not the 4x4 white crap we have currently. I'm so sad too because at first they were so beautiful!!! I was so excited. :'( Ah well, that's why we tried a small section first.
Haven't done anything else since painting the kitchen.
Still need to paint the ceiling white, it's kind of an eggshell color now which is really dull. It's called Swiss Mocha and I'm pretty sure that every house is originally painted this color. Blah. Thinking some crown molding will look awesome in these rooms too someday. The other plan is to move that 4 light fixture above the stove to the spot over the sink. There's a nasty old can light above the sink now and that 4 light fixture will go nicely there. It doesn't give off enough light to be useful where it is at the moment so we need to figure out a better one to go there.
Painting burned us out, plus one of my besties baby shower is tomorrow so I've been working away on a hand made gift. I'll be sure to post pics of that finished project next week.
Have a wonderful 3 day weekend peeps!

Love how bright it is now. |
Nice pic that shows the difference between the new kitchen and living room colors. |
