Vacation eating: Damage report.

We're back from vacation! Boo.

Fine! I gained 4 lbs on vacation, okay?  Sheesh, quit with the 3rd degree... Actually I'm pretty proud, I thought for suuuuure it woulda been more.  We did our shakes for the first half of our trip at the river, but ended up blowing it in Big Bear.

Proof! Breakfast shake :)
So that's that.  Looking forward to getting back into our routine of diet and exercise.

Let me tell ya about our adventures!  First of all we started out in a bad bad way.  Right outside of Indio, en route to Parker, Arizona, we had a major tire blowout on the boat trailer... NOT cool.  On a Sunday, when every tire place known to man is closed.  We were able to get emergency roadside assistance and got 2 new tires just to be safe.  So we got reamed right out of the starting gate and delayed by 2 hours.  Needless to say, we were not happy.

Destroyed!
Well we were able to get back on track and made it safely to our first destination of vacation.  Yahoo!  The boys were so excited.  We stayed at the Blue Water Casino in Parker and they have an awesome waterslide which we spent hours on.  After we were done on the river for the day, of course.  The boys had their first tubing experience too!  Jack loved it, Dylan not so much.  He did do it twice though, so I have to give him credit for that.  Actually, it was my first time on a tube too!  Lots of fun. :)

My babies <3

Gorgeous sunset on the water.

Daniel was really brave and did a little cliff jumping too.  I climbed up and then immediately regretted my decision. LOL  So I climbed my sissy butt down in a jiffy.  Man, it looks sooooo much higher from the top.

Look at him go!

We had a great time there for 3 days then journeyed on to our next adventure, Big Bear Lake.  Our friends have a cabin up there that they are nice enough to lend us on occasion.  Great location, right on the lake.  They have a spectacular fireworks show for 4th of July and it just happens to be right in front of the place.  We launched the boat up there as well which was another first for us.  We prolly won't do it again though.  At least not on such a busy week.  It was nuts!  So many people renting boats and jet ski's that have no idea what the heck they're doing.  Very dangerous.  Someone's boat caught fire too!  We got to see the damage, apparently their battery caught fire outta nowhere.  It was pretty bad, but luckily no one was injured.  My inlaws met us up there on Friday and spent the day with us.  They even took a turn on the tube.  Did I mention they're almost 70??  Yeah, they rock!

I so admire these two. Best inlaws a girl could ask for. <3

Another gorgeous sunset in Big Bear.
Going up there was the perfect way to end the vacation.  We were gone a total of 6 days and 3 of them were HOT!  We're talking up to 123 degrees.  So it was a nice way to cool down before going home. It was in the 80's to 90's in Big Bear, just perfect.

Oh yeah, and I turned 30... It happened. Went to dinner with 9 of our neighbors or former neighbors and our former roommate, Val.  Went to Guadalajara Grill in Lake Elsinore, which is the best ever Mexican food on the planet (in my humble opinion).  My dear friends got me some great gifts too...

Oh aren't they clever? Ha-Ha. Not. ;)
I prolly will use that crochet hook though...  haha  We also celebrated with my family at the inlaws place the night before.  I surely felt the love from all my friends and family on my 30th, so I guess it ain't so bad.

Tradition at Pat's house, gotta wear the hat. And no, I didn't eat any cake or ice cream!

Well, that's all for now folks!  Have a great rest of your week!
